ShizzleAlas, the great Cricket’s hip hop music experience failed miserably… yes, we tried to put some shizzle into Vero Bizzle, but it fizzled. I just thought that that we needed to add some variety to our usual offerings of 70’s and 80’ retro pop fare. What’s more, it was going to be an interesting social anthropology experiment… I don’t know about you, but to me there is nothing more intriguing than being in a very suburban, country club conservative environment-i.e.- SO BLOODY WHITE, and mixing it up with the refains of “ drive slow homey” or “grab a drink , grab a glass…after that I’ll grab your @ss” as women d’un certain age peruse the racks at Cricket’s looking for the latest Tory Burch.
It was innocent enough and I tried to ignore some of the more blatant sexual lyrics by speaking in a slightly elevated tone if asked for a Guiseppi Zanotti shoe in a size 12-which, by the way we don’t carry… It wasn’t until our older clientele came out of the dressing rooms with their hands over their ears looking like the hear no evil monkey, that our surreal, delicious urban experiment was unfortunately, over.
Darn it all…I really wanted to fold Vineyard Vines polos to Missy Elliot cranking out,
“ Bounce, like your @ss got the hiccups” tomorrow.

Book signing
The store was busy most of the day. There is a big event this weekend for the Busch Wildlife Foundation. Of course I have to make sure that women are not repeating in the same casual elegant attire. the mere term sets the tone for this major discussion. ok just a heads up but it is lots of Diane vonFurstenberg. such as
 
This evening I went to see Alexandra Stoddard at Quail Valley River Club. She has a new book out with the title You are Your Choices. It is available at the Vero Beach Book Center. While she was drooling I was rolling my eyes and what do you know he turns out to be Alexandra's husband. Turns out he is a Yale alumni. Between the two of us we bought 10 books and I had such a fabulous time because she truly does have a positive vibe. Andrea is feeling inspired to finish her novel. Per Alexandra's advice the best thing a prospective writer can do is hire a literary agent.
